At the main entrance of the Hotel-Dieu (former hostipal of Toulouse, refer to french info) is located this little niche where poor people leaves the children they don't want. (you can see the false baby).
I guess the wooden box rotates to allow the monks or nuns to get the foundling.

Did you remember an old post from my previous blog when I was living in Baziege ?
Same story for a famous concert hall of Toulouse "La Halle aux Grains", it was also a Corn Exchange.
After an indoor market since 1864 for the grain trade, a sports hall in 1952 - the "Halle aux Grains" becomes a concert hall in 1974.It is the residence of the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse.

Reopening of Le Bibent

Café Bibent is the famous brasserie on Place du Capitole (the picture above have been taken during renovation, but we can see the 2B logo on the window).
It has a long story starting at the beginning of the 20th century in a build of the 19th century.
Decoration of the main room (Napoleon III style) is a listed monument from 1975 (see below).
Reopened last Thursday, we hastened to take a coffee this Sunday morning.
Next time (sonn I hope!!!) we'll have lunch or diner.

Traditionally on Saturday, newlyweds leave the town hall to cross the Place du Capitole, so this barrel organ player is happy if some coins fall in his basket.

Currently, the place is "occupied" by groups of demonstrators. They have unfurled a black banner to denounce a law called LOPPSI II (law to increase the performance of homeland security).
